Styling Pumps for Different Occasions

The perfect pump can be difficult to find. Not too tall, not too short, easy to walk in, comfortable, sexy — the must-haves list is endless. When finding the right pair seems like a hopeless cause (and styling pumps seems even more difficult,) have no worries. Style Doctors is here to help find the perfect pair, and then teach you how to style them.

At the Office

Whether you find yourself in suits on the daily or have a little more leeway, it’s an unspoken understanding that shoes at work have to be comfortable. There are a few options here: chunky kitten heels or 2-3″ stiletto-style pumps. Chunky heels are always a good option if you want to learn how to walk in heels, or if skinnier heels tend to hurt your feet. Not only are they trendy, but they provide stability as well.

Daytime Casual

Casual days out and about open many doors to express yourself. Style a strappy or textured pump with distressed denim or boyfriend jeans. Top off the look with a trendy bomber or cropped leather jacket for some edge. Again, when you’re running around comfort is key. There’s no shame in investing in comfort inserts like Dr. Scholl’s Dreamwalk insoles, (as long as they’re not visible!) If you’re feeling risky, try out the socks-under-heels trend. A lightweight glitter, lace, or netting pair of socks is affordable and an easy way to stand out from a crowd.

An Evening Out

Girls’ Nights Out and dinner dates are inevitable in a busy woman’s life. And a go-to for these kinds of occasions is the Little Black Dress. The best thing about the LBD is that you can wear any colored shoe in any style, and it will always look fabulous. So switch out your plain black pumps and try something new! Metallics, appliques, and fringe are all very trendy right now and are great ways to add fun flair to your look.
