NYFW Trends to Watch
New York Fashion Week is just around the corner! That means it’s out with last season’s trends and in with the new. While there are many beautiful collections out there, it’s hard to pick a favorite. To help you find inspiration for the perfect ensemble, Style Doctors has chosen four of the best NYFW trends to watch out for this season. And we’re letting you in on how to style them.
They’re not just for Cady Heron anymore. With the numerous variations of cargo pants, it’s easy to find the right pair to fit your personality. For an edgy look, a tight fit in dark colors is best. For a more feminine look, satin or crepe cargos are the way to go! Perfect for year-round looks, these are going to service you all the way through 2017.
The corset: tricky to style, but ultimately flattering when styled correctly. To achieve this, pair it over a long sleeve shirt, dress, or under a blazer/jacket. (Perfect for winter, just in time for NYFW.) Strapless corset tops can be paired with wide leg pants or skirts for a juxtaposition in proportions. What’s best? It’s great for accentuating the waistline.

Wearing a pant suit doesn’t mean you have to look like a presidential candidate. Although pantsuits for women are always been a timeless look, we are seeing them more and more lately in street wear and on the runway. Updates this season include velvet and satin suits. Feeling bold on a night out? Go for a simple piece of lingerie underneath. Wearing to the office? A crisp blouse and a cropped trouser/stiletto combo are a no-fail option.
Much like the pantsuit, mules had their hayday a few decades ago. But the comeback is upon us. With popularity on the rise, styling has gotten creative. Mules without socks is always a go-to, but if you’re feeling risky, go ahead and slip on a sheer sock underneath. For the spring days that are ahead, consider a peep toe mule. They still look great with sock so don’t be afraid to wear them while it’s still chilly. However, If you’re not interested in peep toes, a classic pointed high-heeled mule will keep your shoe collection up to date with NYFW trends.
Sometimes you can see a trend you love on the runway but find it impossible to find a versatile piece that fits your personality.
