Fashion Week Street Style Inspiration
Last week on our social media pages we brought you three different looks from inspired by street style looks seen off the catwalks in New York, London and Milan.
Fashion week street style has almost become as big as the catwalk shows themselves with many using the streets outside the shows as their very own runways. We have all seen Anna Della Russo parade down the streets of Milan in her creations and Olivia Palermo looking wistfully into the camera at New York fashion week.
The designers and ‘muses’ alike get great PR for the brand and themselves and many use the fashion week streets as their time to get seen in their latest outfit.
Our first off the catwalk street style is from New York and we decided to chose an outfit that is both wearable and will be a look that we’ll see a lot of this season. The grey palette is back with a vengeance this Autumn and we liked the way this NYFW attendee used the soft grey palette to create this subtle layered look. A classic white blouse is a great base to wear with this outfit and adding a pop of colour in the shoes and the sunglasses gives the outfit the wow factor. Worn for work or play this is an outfit that can be worn by different shapes (chose a shorter skirt if you’re petite).
The second look was spotted in London where the leather skirt look made a big splash.
‘Leather is a big story this Autumn and it’s a lot more ‘grown-up’ than we’ve seen it styled before. This pleated skirt is a really sophisticated way of wearing leather and the graphic print top is a wardrobe staple which could just as easily be worn with your favourite jeans. It’s also the ‘season of the hat’ and if you haven’t worn one before ask your stylist when you’re shopping which shape is best for you.
My tip is to add one luxe item to your wardrobe to give it that edge and here we’ve chosen the Marc Jacobs watch to finish off the outfit’ says Style Doctors stylist Alexandra.
And for our last look from the streets of Milan is by Leila Yavari who is wearing an outfit considerably more expensive than ours…Leila’s outfit comes in at over £10,000 and ours costs just under £400.
‘We found a dress very similar to Leila’s at a fraction of the price and teamed it up with a real leather jacket and leather boots. Don’t be afraid of mixing something feminine like a maxi dress with some heavy boots and a leather jacket.
When we take people shopping we show them where to get the best items for the right price. It’s not necessarily about where things are from, it’s how you put them together’ says Style Doctors personal stylist Elin Mai.
We hope you enjoyed our round-up of the street style looks. For more style inspiration and to find out how to create a look that’s right for you book a personal stylist session.
