Dress Up Your Denim
Looking effortlessly chic is something most of our clients aspire to achieve however this isn’t always as easy as it may look and our personal stylists have come up with a formula on how to dress up your denim. On average we own around seven pairs of jeans (and only wear four) but are you making the most of your denim looks?
The key to effortless casual dressing is all about having the right basics and denim plays a big part in any casual wardrobe. Our stylist tips are
Stylist Tip #1
Invest in a pair of jeans that you can imagine wearing wherever you’re going whether that’s for a coffee with the girls or on a date. The reason for this is all about how you feel in them. If you feel good enough to go anywhere in the jeans, that means they’re a good starting point and will work with both casual and slightly smarter outfits.
Stylist Tip #2
Investing in classics such as a great shirt in white, chambray or a stripe. Looking timeless is key to achieving an effortless look and teaming up a collared shirt or blouse with denim will immediately dress it up.
Stylist Tip #3
Add a statement piece such as a printed shoe (like these leopard print tie flats below) to add some edge to your denim. Doing this will immediately elevate your outfit and make it look less rigid and safe
Stylist Tip #4
Add a classic coat in a staple colour such as camel or tan. This will ensure that your last layer is always smart and will finish off your denim and compliment the colour perfectly.
A pair of blue washed out jeans can really go anywhere when styled correctly. Not too sure where to start? Read some of our stylist tips here. Always remember to accessorise your denim with sophisticated pieces like a belt, which will highlight your waist and leopard shoes to finish off the look. Another fun way of dressing up your favourite pair of jeans is to layer on necklaces. Necklaces of similar materials and different lengths can pull the look together. We recommend keeping it simple when it comes to creating an effortless look and gold is a great match to blue denim.
A classic bag in timeless tones like this is a great piece to accompany denim as it has just the right amount of detail without being too distracting.
When creating the perfect effortless look keep your colour palette as simple as possible. Blue denim, white, tan, camel and white are the key colours to create this look.
Be creative and don’t be scared to try new things. Remember you can never go wrong with a simple pair of denim jeans.
