Finding the Right Beauty Products for Dry Skin

Sometimes the best thing to complete your look is not another accessory. It’s healthy skin! These winter days can leave your skin looking dry and rough. Your makeup skills may be better than most, but makeup will not look good if your skin isn’t hydrated properly. That’s why it’s important to adjust your skin care and makeup regimen based on your skin’s tendencies. With so many products for dry skin out there, we are easily overwhelmed. We have picked our favorite beauty products for dry skin so even on the driest days, your skin looks as good as your outfit.

Moisturizer

Before anything is a quality moisturizer. If you’re looking to go full out, add a serum or beauty oil to your regimen as well. A common misconception is that beauty oil will will cause the skin to be greasy, but the drier your skin is, the more it will compensate by releasing natural oils. These moisturizers are exactly what your skin needs before you look into makeup products.

Foundation

The first thing you should always do during dry, winter days is use a liquid foundation. Powder foundation will make dry patches noticeable and will do nothing to hydrate your skin. Foundations with a dewy finish help moisturize further while adding a subtle glow.

Concealer

When it comes to finding beauty products for dry skin, cream concealers are going to be your best friend. They cover imperfections, last hours, are full coverage (so no need to cake on layers of it), and are super blendable. All are ideal for dry skin. Some of our favorite concealers are come in multiple skin tones, making it easy to find the right shade.

Lip Products

Our lips are always the first thing to dry out once the temperature drops. It’s probably best if you abandon your matte lipsticks and lip stains. They look great at first, but have an alcoholic base that dries out lips quickly. For  an everyday option, tinted lip balm adds just a touch of color while keeping your lips moisturized for hours. For a glam look, lipstick with a shine or satin finish will do the trick. And before you apply any of these products, remember to use a lip scrub. Scrubs remove unsightly dead skin and help heal cracks, revealing soft and supple lips.
