Autumn Winter Wardrobe Essentials

Just when we keep thinking that the winter is finally here, we get another warm day however by the looks of the skies today and the weather forecast, we can safely say that winter is well on it’s way. With a new season comes a whole new wardrobe and if you haven’t invested in a winter wardrobe in a while, we at Style Doctors wanted to show you some winter wardrobe essentials.

We often find that lots of people ‘make-do’ with old winter clothes and think that as they’ll be layered it doesn’t matter what they look like, even if they are looking threadbare. You still need to feel good about yourself whatever the weather!

We also find that people are often afraid to layer as they don’t want to appear bigger than they are. Clever layering is about using the right fabrics in the right shapes and wearing them in harmony. It’s easy to grab a big chunky sweater but looks far more stylish to put separates together.

If you haven’t got one yet, a leather jacket is a wardrobe staple. You can dress it up, dress it down. It’s your transitional piece that will give an edge to any outfit.

This season is all about fur but rather than buying a coat with a fur collar we suggest buying a separate collar that you can then wear with all of your coats and jackets. We love this fur stole scarf from Topshop.

If you’ve been shopping recently you’ve probably noticed blanket coats everywhere. Whether you buy the original Burberry version or choose a high street staple, we suggest going for one of these in a neutral palette to ensure longevity.

Statement necklaces have gone even bigger and these are a great way to dress up the simplest of knits and we love this jewelled piece by Min Velvet.

Ankle boots are a must and our tip is to look for a slight heel (even just an inch) as this will help elongate your legs.

Coats are classic and neutral this season and that’s a great thing as tan and beige works with everything!

It’s also a nice idea to change your scent as the season changes and we love this Velvet Orchid scent by Tom Ford.
